Q. Do I need to add ACTIV8 Friction Reducer every oil service?
No. ACTIV8 Friction Reducer will stay within your engine through repeated oil changes. In standard running 4-stroke and diesel engines, ACTIV8 Friction Reducer will last up to 5 oil changes or 25,000 miles / 40,000 kilometers before the need to retreat. When used in high performance vehicles or vehicles used on the race track, we suggest a retreatment once every 3rd oil change as the effect of ACTIV8 will be removed faster under higher load conditions
Q. How much improvement in performance and economy can I expect?
When you use ACTIV8 Frcition Reducer as directed, the improvements in perfomance and economy can range between 2% and 12%. Typical gains of 4%-7% are seen by the majority of users.
Q. I have a noisy gearbox. Will ACTIV8 Friction Reducer get rid of the noise?
It might! If the noise is only due to a frictional issue, ACTIV8 Friction Reducer should eliminate the noise. If however there is a another reason, not due to friction, then ACTIV8 Friction Reducer may not eliminate the noise. If this is the case, the only benefit ACTIV8 Friction Reducer will provide is to delay further worsening of the issue.
Q. Is ACTIV8 Friction Reducer suitable in my automatic gearbox in my car?
Yes. If your automatic gearbox is a torque convertor type gearbox (i.e All automatic gearboxes maunfactured after 1980 were torque convertor type boxes), ACTIV8 IS suitable. If the vehicle is pre 1960's then only use ACTIV8 in the automatic gearbox if the friction drive bands/plates are mineral (i.e. cork or fibre) If the friction bands/plates are metal to metal, DO NOT USE!
Q. Is ACTIV8 more effective in an older engine than in a modern engine? Point
No. ACTIV8 will reduce metal to metal wear significantly in both modern and older engines. ACTIV8 Lubricants recommend the Friction Reducer in ALL types. However, the older engine may provide a greater gain in performance and economy as ACTIV8 Friction Reducer may have overcome more frictional losses
Q. Will ACTIV8 Friction Reducer cause my wet clutch to slip in my motorcycle?
No. Because ACTIV8 contains no solids such as PTFE, Zinc, Silicone, Molybdinum, etc., ACTIV8 doesn't coat and therefore will not interfere with fibre, cork or kevlar (all mineral surfaces OK!) working surfaces. ACTIV8 Friction Redcuer only works when the working surfaces are metal to metal and will not negatively effect non-metal working surfaces.
